This video was recorded on April 1, 2014. It shows DORI performing a “rough” LIDAR laser sweep with a radial precision of 1mm and angular resolution of 0.1°. Each position is averaged over 3 samples to increase accuracy. In high resolution sweep mode the angular resolution can be increased to 0.01° (36000 steps per revolution). Note that at 01:28 the laser is able to detect the thin metal bars even in “rough” mode. In high resolution mode the curvature of the bars can be detected.
